SIT (Shuchit Infotek) Leave Policy At Shuchit Infotek (SIT), we value the well-being and work-life balance of our employees. This document outlines the leave entitlements and guidelines for regular employees.
Types of Leave
Earned Leave (EL)
Entitlement:Regular Employees are entitled to 15 days of earned leave per year upon completing 12 months of continuous service.
Accumulation:Earned leave is accrued at the rate of 1 day for every 20 days worked and is calculated quarterly.
Carry Forward: Regular Employees may carry forward up to 45 days of unused earned leave.
Sickness Leave (SL)
Entitlement:Regular Employees are entitled to 15 days of sickness leave per year upon completing 6 months of continuous service.
Usage:Sickness leave should be used for health-related absences. A medical certificate may be required for absences exceeding or equal to 2 consecutive days.
Casual Leave (CL)
Entitlement:Employees are entitled to 10 days of casual leave per year.
Usage:Casual leave is intended for personal or unforeseen circumstances. It cannot be carried forward or encashed.
General Guidelines
Leave Application:
Leave must be requested and approved through the designated leave management system.
Except in emergencies, leave applications should be submitted at least 3 working days in advance.
Leave Approval:
Leave is subject to approval by the reporting manager, considering operational requirements.
Unapproved absences will be treated as unpaid leave.
Combining Leaves: Employees may combine earned leave and casual leave with prior approval. o Sickness leave cannot be combined with casual leave unless justified and approved.

Encashment:
Earned leave exceeding 45 days at the end of a calendar year will be encashed as per company policy. Casual leave and sickness leave can not be encashed.
Unutilized Leave: Unused casual leave and sickness leave will lapse at the end of the year.
Holiday and Week Off Inclusion: If leaves (EL, SL, or CL) are taken just before or after a holiday or a week off, the holiday/week off will be included as part of the leave type applied for. For example, if an employee applies for leave on Friday and the subsequent Saturday is a week off, both Friday and Saturday will be counted as leave. Similarly, if an employee takes leave on Monday and the preceding Sunday is a holiday, both Sunday and Monday will be counted as leave. This ensures fair usage of leave entitlements and maintains operational continuity.
Exceptions and Special Cases:
The company may provide additional leave for special circumstances (e.g., bereavement, maternity, or paternity leave) as per applicable laws and policies.
Any deviations from the policy require prior approval from the HR department.
Compliance and Records
Employees are required to maintain honesty and transparency regarding their leave usage. Misrepresentation of reasons for leave will be subject to disciplinary action.
